Psalm Sixteen: A Refreshing Reminder

Posted: October 1, 2012 in Interlude (Psalms)

As I sit here trying to think of some flowery way to wax eloquently about this psalm, all I can do is sit here and think to myself, “Man…I’m so glad that God not only pursued me and rescued me, but I can rest in the comfort and knowledge that God will never leave me.” That was actually part of my sermon yesterday.

And I love how God not only saves us and keeps us, but He also delights in blessing us. Cannot we all say as David did, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Our response to God’s goodness is what we call worship, that attributing to God all the worth we can muster in our puny minds. It’s a response of gratitude and devotion, that chasing after God, that pressing deeply into Him through His Word. Let’s get to it!
