The Final Month:Day Eleven

Posted: July 11, 2012 in The Final Month

Day eleven. More than a third of this final month, gone already. The mental fatigue is beginning to press upon me as I’m burning the proverbial candle at both ends. Walt and I are on the phone multiple times during the week now; I would say over the last six weeks we’ve spent an average of 4 hours a week on the phone, if not more. We do this in the mornings before I go to work, which means that my time at home is cut shorter. I’m either sacrificing sleep or family time- neither is optimal, but at the same time this is part of ministry life. I’m doing what I can do ensure that I spend adequate time with the family, and I can catch up on sleep later.

The good news is, Walt and I were able to agree on our children’s curriculum! We’re excited about it, and we’re both looking forward to God radically impacting Journey Kids through the materials. We’re still looking for God to motivate and draw volunteers, so don’t hesitate to add that to your prayer list.

Aside from that, my blessings today have been the usual. I enjoy Wednesdays because in addition to teaching my students in the evening, I have a few that come a couple hours earlier for some fellowship and personal discipleship. As I was studying this afternoon, I was overcome by an incredible sense of appreciation for God’s Word. That He would make us is crazy- that He would communicate with us is mind-blowing.

I know this post is much shorter than usual, but I’m struggling to keep my eyes open. Please pray for mine and Sarai’s dentist appointments tomorrow. A benefactor has offered to pay for our dental work, but obviously there are limits to what can be done. Pray that most of our dental work can be performed, and I would also ask that you pray for God’s blessings on this individual for their kindness and generosity.

Soli Deo Gloria
