The Final Month: Day Four

Posted: July 4, 2012 in The Final Month

One of the thoughts continually floating through my mind over the last few months is that God’s grace is both immeasurable and incomprehensible. I mean, think about this one for a second- what if God had chosen against the enacting of a New Covenant? God wasn’t obligated to work among mankind in the first place, but what if He had left us with His Old Covenant, one that would simply leave us to our own willful doom and departure from God?

It’s crazy to think that God wanted more, that He actually wanted us. As the writer of Hebrews describes the New Covenant, “this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people…I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” But what adds to the craziness is that God is not only saving us…He’s molding us and using us to further His Kingdom. And with that comes His supernatural ability to complete the work through us that He has called us to.

But I have to say, it was a bit surreal to have a young couple with two kids standing in my house today saying “we love the place and would like to lease it for a couple years, perhaps buy it later down the road. Oh- and we’re looking to move in about three days after you hit the road for Virginia.”

Really? Are you kidding me???

Odd how we pray with the full expectation that God not only hears us, but also answers our requests and meets our needs, yet all the same we’re sometimes caught off guard when our prayers are actually answered. Yes, I would have loved for someone to come up and buy the house straight out, but our need was to not have a house payment, and God is actively meeting that need. The paperwork won’t be finalized until next week or so, but the potential renters are definitely settled on the house. Praise God for meeting such a huge need! Our monthly support level is still sitting at 32%, but I have no doubt that God will stir hearts to plug into the vision of Life Journey Church. I realized earlier today that as it’s Independence Day, I may have been wrong about some support meetings occurring today. I’ll know more as the week progresses.

And speaking of the progressing week, there is much to be done before our yard sale on Saturday, so please keep that in your prayers. Also please begin to pray (if you haven’t already!) about our official launch on September 9th– it will be here before we know it! Pray that the power of God will be manifested, that hearts will be turned, and that souls will be saved.

Be sure to check out this page for our ongoing prayer needs…
