Psalm Nine: Not Your Typical Mountaintop

Posted: January 11, 2012 in Interlude (Psalms)

“I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.”

Odd words from the Psalmist, given that in this psalm we see that he identifies himself as one who is pursued by enemies (vs. 3), oppressed (vs. 9), troubled (vs. 9), afflicted (vs. 12 &13), needy (vs. 18), and poor (vs. 18).

I reckon the moral of the story is this: don’t wait for life to be perfect before you think about God’s goodness in your many blessings. That’s something that we should be able to do regardless of what may be going on in our lives.
