Psalm 7. Risky Business

Posted: December 3, 2011 in Interlude (Psalms)

In this psalm we find David frantically begging God to deliver him from his enemies, even going songwriter as to say, “The Lord judges the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.”

How bold is that- to ask God’s judgement on yourself? Especially a man with character flaws such as David? But the thing is, even though a fallen sinner, David’s relationship with his God was so secure that he needed no fear rejection and damnation. More awesome than that is the realization that all of God’s children can embrace this security. Have you?
