Luke Five: Encountering Jesus

Posted: October 30, 2011 in Luke

While everyone’s conversion experience differs from everyone else’s, there are certain common factors, one of which we see in this chapter.

Upon seeing Jesus’ demonstration of His supernatural power, Peter recognizes his own sinfulness. The prophet Isaiah experienced this back in Isaiah chapter six, and I recall the night that this became a reality for me as well.

See here’s the thing- someone who isn’t lost has little use for a savior. Or as Jesus put it, someone not sick has no need for a doctor. The bottom line is this- if your relationship to sin hasn’t changed, it’s probably a safe bet that your relationship to God hasn’t changed either.
